History
De Prêtre Orthopedie wasn’t created in a day. For five generations, we have been building a company that has developed into a modern, contemporary orthopaedic centre with a reliable reputation throughout the whole of Belgium.
At the end of the 19th century leather trader Pieter Benjamin set up De Prêtre in the Moerstraat in Bruges.
His son Pieter followed in his footsteps and laid the basis of modern shoe making: with his specialised custom work he quickly became very successful in Bruges. Under the wings of his son Georges, in the fifties he increasingly became a benchmark in the region. So more and more people with problem feet found their way to the Noordzandstraat for a custom-made comfort shoe.
